Riding in Detail:

Day 1: Hanoi – Mai Chau: 190km | 15 Day Motorcycle Tour Hanoi to Sai Gon via Ho Chi Minh Trail.

In the morning, our guide will come and pick you up at the hotel, take the bus to the suburban area to start the northern Vietnam motorbike tour. We will ride motorbike to Mai Chau valley afterward.

Tan Ky is a small town, situated on two sides of Ho Chi Minh trail. Far away from main city, it is the good place for you to explore the local life of indigenous residents here.

Day 3: Tan Ky – Phong Nha: 280 Km | 15 Day Motorcycle Tour Hanoi to Sai Gon via Ho Chi Minh Trail

We are supposed to stop at some historical vestiges to take a look and understand more about the severe years of Vietnamese such as Hien Luong Bridge, Vinh Moc tunnel, etc

“Vinh Moc is a tunnel complex located in Quang Tri, Vietnam. This one was in a strategic location, served as a bomb shelter for local people in Son Trung and Son Ha communes of Vinh Linh districts in the Vietnamese Demilitarized zone. The people were believed to support foods and other stuffs for North Vietnamese garrison on the Con Co Island.

The American soldier wanted to suppress local people and forced them to leave but the residents had nowhere to go. They decided to move the village underground 10m but the American forces designed bombs that burrowed down 10m. Finally, villagers decided to dig more to the depth of 30m. This construction was started in 1966 and used until 1972. They lived here like normal, with the kitchens, rooms for living. Around 60 families lived in that tunnel with roughly 17 children were born here”

“Hoi An is the ancient harbor town of Champa people, deriving from the before the 10th century. Lying at the estuary of Thu Bon River and near the sea, it kept being the harbor and trading center of Vietnam in 16th and 17th centuries. There are many Chinese, Japanese and western people coming to Vietnam and settle down at that time. Hoi An was also called Hai Pho in old time, which meant Seaside town. When the French came there, it is named as Faifo. In Hoi An, the most typical building which is the icon of that town is Chua Cau or pagoda bridge. This one was built on 17th century, which reflects the harmony combination of Vietnamese, Chinese and Japanese architecture, with the function of both bridge and pagoda.

This town is called by French, Spanish, Portuguese and Dutch as Faifo. Many people have tried to explain that name. It is believed to be another version of Hai Pho. Others claim that it is the shortening of “Hoi An Pho”, to “Hoi Pho” and then Faifo.

This town was recognized as World Heritage site by UNESCO (the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) in 1999, as a well-preserved example of a Southeast Asian trading port of the 15th to 19th centuries, whose buildings display a unique blend of local and foreign influences”.

Besides the historical and cultural attractions in Hoi An, this town is also really well-known for its long and marvelous beaches. In the afternoon, we can ride motorbike to the Cua Dai beach or rent the bike to cycle along the windy paddy fields from Hoi An town to coastal area, just about 4km. At night, you can enjoy a cup of coffee on the bank of Thu Bon river, listen to the traditional music and explore the beauty of Hoi An by night with the colorful and shining lanterns.

Day 8: Hoi An Motorbike Tour to Kon Tum (Central Highland):  290 Km | 15 Day Motorcycle Tour Hanoi to Sai Gon via Ho Chi Minh Trail.

The distance is short, but it can take time to reach here because of the traffic jam in the suburban areas of Ho Chi Minh City. We will ride to train station and park the motorbike here.
