Riding in Detail:

Day 1: Hanoi – Phu Yen, 180 km.

The motorbike tour starts with a trip from Hanoi to Phu Yen. You will go through Son Tay, where you will take some rest for a short time. After having lunch, you continue to move along the winding trails along the mountainside while breathing the fresh atmosphere of mountainous areas. When the night falls, you will reach Phu Yen and spend the first night at a hotel here.

Day 2: Phu Yen – Mai Chau, 155 km.

The second day will be an exciting excursion from Phu Yen to Mai Chau. You ride your motorbike along the off-road trail where you admire the charming beauty of the forests, valleys, and villages. You also cross an old road constructed in the French colonial era in Vietnam. In the afternoon, you pay a visit to some tribe villages. Then, you will have a great night to discover the life of the local people. At the end of the day, you get some rest in a stilt house of Thai people in Mai Chau.

Day 3: Mai Chau – Tan Ky via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 285km.

From Mai Chau, you move a long distance to get to Tan Ky. Along the road, you will go through Ma River before reaching Cam Thuy town and enjoy a light lunch here. Continue to ride along the Ho Chi Minh trail before getting to the final destination of the third day. After a long day of riding your motorbike, you can spend time relaxing at a hotel in Tan Ky town.

Day 4: Tan Ky – Phong Nha via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 280km.

After finishing breakfast, you will start a motorbike ride from Northern Vietnam to Central Vietnam. You will follow the Ho Chi Minh trail and admire a wide range of historical monuments along the way before having a stop in Pho Chau. After a short break, you get on the motorcycle for a trip to the most beautiful Vietnamese cave named Phong Nha – Ke Bang, which is surrounded by magnificent underground reefs, sandbanks, and rivers. At night, you come back to the hotel in Phong Nha and get to sleep here.

Day 5: Phong Nha – Doong Hoi, via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 70km.

You will have a great day in Phong Nha – Ke Bang. In the morning, some interesting activities like boating and sightseeing will give you memorable moments. If you desire to get more understanding of the Vietnamese culture and history, you can go to visit the historical monuments here. In the afternoon, you go on the journey to Dong Hoi, which attracts thousands of tourists due to not only sandy beaches with blue water but also numerous historical sites. When returning to the hotel in Dong Hoi, you stay in the room with a balcony overlooking the beach. Relax and enjoy the breathtaking landscape here at night.

Day 6: Dong Hoi – Khe Sanh, via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 200km.

A ride from Dong Hoi to Quang Binh is a good opportunity for you to discover historical vestiges that are associated with bloody wars of Vietnamese in the past. Some must-visit sites here include Hien Luong Bridge and Vinh Moc tunnel. After that, you move to Khe Sanh and take overnight at a hotel here.

Day 7: Khe Sanh – Hue via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 180km.

On the seventh day, your itinerary includes a trip from Khe Sanh to Hue. On the way, you will ride through two historical sites of the Da Krong Bridge and A Shau valley. Along the Ho Chi Minh trail, you cross Hamburger Hill and some mountains before reaching the mountain district named A Luoi in Hue, which is known as the residence of Bru people. In the late afternoon, you get on your motorbike and move through green paddy fields to get to Hue. This city is also the place for you to stay the night.

Day 8: Hue – Hoi An via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 150km.

A distance of more than 100 km from Hue to Hoian will keep you sitting on the motorbike for a while. After going along the Highway 1, you continue to cross Hai Van pass and follow the Ho Chi Minh trail to reach the ancient city of Hoian. Immerse yourself into the nightlife in this lovely city before spending your next day exploring the poetic beauty of Hoian.

Day 9: Hoi An Stay.

It will be a memorable day when you get a chance to discover all fascinating things in Hoian, from buildings with ancient architecture, stunning beaches to walking streets decorated with colorful lanterns. From Hoian, you can cross a stretch of 20 km to come to My Khe beach in Danang for deep relaxation.

Day 10: Hoi An – Kon Tum via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 280km.

After the travels in Hoian, you take a ride to Phuoc Son and get across Lo Su pass before moving through several tribe villages of Bahnar people. When reaching the border with Laos, you turn into Kon Tum and enjoy your night here.

Day 11: Kon Tum – Buon Ma Thuat via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 240km.

A trip to Central Highland will bring you a lot of pleasant feelings. From Kon Tum, you start a ride to Pleiku and pass along Ia Drang valley battlefield before coming to Buon Ma Thuot, where you will see a host of coffee farms and breathe in the pure air. You will arrive in Buon Ma Thuot at night and take overnight in a homestay.

Day 12: Buon Ma Thuat – Nha Trang via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 190km.

You will spend a day taking pleasure in Nha Trang beach. It is quite easy to conquer the road from Buon Ma Thuot to Nha Trang. Start the trip in Buon Ma Thuot, you move through Tay Son highlands and go along the coast before following Highway 1 to reach Nha Trang. During your motorbike trip, you will immerse yourself in the dramatic landscape with magnificent cliffs. After you get to Nha Trang, this coastal city will give you an awesome night before taking overnight at a hotel.

Day 13: Nha Trang – Da Lat via Ho Chi Minh Trail, 210km.

Leaving the beautiful coastal city, you mount your motorbike for a voyage of Da lat discovery. The stretch from Nha Trang to Dalat is encompassed with the quiet space of the mountain landscape. In the afternoon, you will come to this romantic city. Spend your night walking around some sloping roads and tasting a cup of coffee while enjoying the cool air here; then you will feel relaxed and peaceful.

Day 14: Da Lat Sightseeing.

You also have one more day to experience the city of thousands of flowers with pine forests, French-style ancient buildings, spectacular waterfalls, and colorful flower gardens. Most excitingly, the temperate climate throughout the year here will bring considerable improvements to your health. Riding your motorbike around Dalat all day long is the greatest way for you to explore all the unique things in this lovely city.

Day 15: Da Lat – Cat Tien National Park via Ho Chi Minh Trail.

Cat Tien will be the next destination in the journey through the Ho Chi Minh trail. From Dalat, you have a ride along the road No.20 before arriving at Cat Tien National Park, which gives you a chance to see lush green vegetation while crossing the forest. However, you will find some areas exhausted because of the destruction brought about by war. You will get some rest in a guest house at Cat Tien National Park and prepare for the last day trip.

Day 16: Cat Tien – Sai Gon via Ho Chi Minh Trail.

The last day of the journey will be a ride from Cat Tien National Park to Saigon. It will take you a lot of time to move between the two destinations due to the traffic jam on the outskirts of Saigon. When you reach the train station, the Ho Chi Minh Trail Motorbike Tour will end.

Booking Condition:

– To secure your bookings we require a minimal of 30 % deposit. Balance can be made upon arrival

– The rider is responsible for any bank charges. ( surcharge 3,5% if you pay by credit card )

– The balance can be paid by cash or credit on the first day of the trip

– If you cancel the Vietnam motorbike tour before the departure date, you will lose 100% of the deposit.

– If you cancel the tour after the departure date, you will lose 100% of the total cost/ fee of the tour for any reason.

– After departure, NO REFUNDS will be given for any reason, if you cancel the tour.

– A Damage Cost deposit of US$ 100 – 1,000 or more is required for each motorcycle for using in the guided or self-guided motorcycle tours. In case of a self-caused accident, your own participation is up to US$ 2,000 or more.

Cancellation

No additional cancellation fees apply for this tour. You can cancel the tour up to 12 days prior departure and avoid paying the full amount, but your deposit paid is non-refundable. No refund applies for cancellations within 11 days of departure.

Payment

For any tour departures within 03 July 2022, full payment is required. For tours that depart later than 03 July 2022, a deposit of 30% is required to confirm this tour, and the remaining balance will be charged 11 days before trip departure.

Travel Insurance

16 Day Vietnam Motorbike Tour Hanoi – Sai Gon via Ho Chi Minh Trail requires that you have adequate and valid travel insurance covering medical and personal accidents, including repatriation costs and emergency evacuation. We recommend using World Nomads’ travel insurance.

Visa

For this tour getting the required visa(s) is the responsibility for each individual traveler, as visa requirements vary depending on your nationality. We recommend to check with your local embassies representing the countries that you are traveling to, as part of this itinerary.

– Airport pick up/drop off, Support vehicle or Air tickets are not included but they can be arranged depending on your request with the extra cost
